BRANSON — Timmy Townsend no-hit Forsyth and went 4-for-4 in Branson’s 17–0 win on Thursday.
The Pirates improved to 18–4.
Neosho downs Mt. Vernon
Anthony Hendrix, AJ Enloe and Jared Brown all had two hits to power Neosho past Mt. Vernon 13–6.
Scott Pogue was the winning pitcher.

SPRINGFIELD — Branson’s Timmy Townsend had four RBIs to power the Pirates past Springfield Hillcrest 12–6 on Monday.
Tee Helsel had three hits and Hayden Thull two for the Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division champs.
Branson plated nine runs in the second inning while improving to 16–4.

FORSYTH — Reeds Spring ripped Spokane 13–4 on Wednesday.
The Wolves received two hits apiece from Lucas McDannold, Johnny Davis, Riker Douglas, Chris Jones, Kyle Fleck, Josh Cherry. McDannold had three RBIs and two stolen bases. Douglas and Cherry both had two RBIs.
Jones was the winning pitcher, striking out 11 in six innings.

Reeds Spring improves to 3–1

CLEVER — Reeds Spring’s baseball team took third place at the Right Off Bat Tournament by edging Mount Vernon 9–6 on Saturday.
Wes DeWilde delivered a two-out, two-run triple in the fourth inning to cap his four-RBI performance. Riker Douglas and Eddie Blanchard both rapped out three hits.
Winning pitcher Johnny Davis struck out eight..
The Wolves (3−1) downed Marionville 18–8 on Friday. DeWilde, Blanchard and Chris Jones all had three hits and two RBIs. Johnathan Knittle was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Kyle Fleck homered. Dillion Dean notched his first varsity win.

BOLIVAR — Timmy Townsend struck out 10 to power Branson’s baseball team to an 8–4 triumph over Bolivar on Monday.
Townsend blanked the Liberators over the final six innings. Hayden Thull had a two-run single and Tee Helsel was 2-for-4 for the Pirates. Bolivar’s Tyler Welch was also 2–4.
Branson improved to 6–1.
Rogersville beats Buffalo
In a Central Ozark Conference Small Schools Division game, Rogersville downed Buffalo 15–3.

REEDS SPRING — Chase Shields and Parker O’Dell homered to support Mike Compton’s one-hitter as Branson’s baseball team downed ripped Reeds Spring 10–1 on Thursday.
Compton’s only miscue was a solo homer by Wolves catcher Eddie Blanchard. Compton struck out 10.
Shields, Timmy Townsend and Tee Helsel all had two hits.

Nixa falls in Red & Blue finale (Baseball roundup)

SPRINGFIELD — Nixa’s baseball team lost 5–2 to Greenwood (Ark.) in the Blue Division championship game at the Red & Blue Tournament on Saturday.
The Eagles fell to 7–2. Greenwood, ranked No. 1 in Class AAAAA in Arkansas, is 17–0.
Nixa totaled 36 runs in pool play wins over Mountain Home, Springfield Hillcrest and Neosho. Sophomore Dean Deetz pitched a no-hitter in his first varsity start while beating Hillcrest.
Pirates whip Odessa
At Branson on Friday, the Pirates clobbered Odessa 12–7.
Mike Compton banged out three doubles and a triple and Tee Helsel had three hits for the Pirates.

NEOSHO — Paul Stevens went 2-for-2 and had three RBIs in Branson’s 10–5 Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division win over Neosho on Tuesday.
The Pirates’ Isaac Johnson, Timmy Townsend and Tee Helsel also all had two hits.
Townsend was the winning pitcher.
Neosho’s Blake Henry homered while going 2-for-3. Jacob Rickman was also 2-for-3.

NEOSHO — Jacob Barns drove in Jacob Rickman on a walk-off RBI-single to lift Neosho’s baseball team to a 4–3 Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division win over Carthage on Thursday.
The Wildcats also had a walk-off COC win earlier this season over Willard.

Republic edges Bolivar (Baseball roundup)

BOLIVAR – Auggie Elivo had two hits and three RBIs to lead Republic past Bolivar 7–6 on Monday.
Bolivar’s Seth Hopwood collected three hits and two RBIs and Brayden Berg was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.
The Liberators (10−5) trailed 5–0, but cut Republic’s lead to one run by scoring three times in the seventh inning. They had two baserunners as Republic’s Tyler King closed the game by retiring the final batter on a groundout.
Pirates 3–0 in COC play
At Branson on Monday, the Pirates cruised to a 12–2, six-inning win over Webb City in Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division action.
Tee Helsel collected two home runs and six RBIs and Timmy Townsend had a three-run triple.
Townsend was the winning pitcher, striking out five and walking no one while tossing a four-hitter.
The Pirates are 11–3 overall and 3–0 in conference play.
Reeds Springs shuts out Hollister
At Hollister on Monday, Reeds Spring’s Chris Jones fired a three-hitter in the Wolves’ 13–0, five-inning COC Small Schools Division win.
Jones struck out five and walked one.
Reeds Spring is 10–5 and Hollister 1–9.

NEOSHO — Alex Wise rapped out three hits to lead Neosho past Republic 6–4 in Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division action on Tuesday.
The win keeps the Wildcats one game behind Branson for first place in the conference.
Tyler King suffered the loss while allowing two earned runs.
Branson rallies past Willard
At Branson, the Pirates pounded out 14 hits to beat Willard 11–3.
Willard led 2–0 after two innings.
Timmy Townsend was 3-for-5, while Tee Helsel, Mike Compton, Chase Shields and Joe Keller all had two hits.
Compton was the winning pitcher, striking out seven in six innings.
Devin Phillips had an RBI-double for Willard and Tyler Hampton contributed an RBI-single.
Branson is 14–4 overall and 5–0 in the COC Large Schools Division.

CARTHAGE — The combination of Branson’s 23–12 win over Carthage and Neosho’s 4–3 setback to Nixa on Thursday allowed the Pirates to capture the Central Ozark Conference Large Schools Division championship.
Branson, 6–0 in conference play, has at least a two-game lead on the rest of the conference with only a home date against Ozark to play on Tuesday.
Isaac Johnston was 4-for-5 and homered for the Pirates. Brian Poston homered for Carthage.
Nixa rallied to beat Neosho by scoring two runs in the seventh inning.
